These four strand turksheads are made with three passes.
The top ring has a twisted wire strand for a center pass. The bottom ring is made with mixed metals: sterling silver and gold. |
| The four strand turkshead is a little harder to make than the three strand turkshead. Victor Raahauge of Vallejo, California taught me this knot. Victor ran the Mare Island Ferry Company; I was one of his Captians from 1980 to 1983. the Mare Island ferries are no longer running, but Victor's knots keep sailing on. | |
| Single pass turkshead rings are made in a heavy guage wire. Multiple pass turkshead rings are made with various gauges, usually 22 guage or 20 guage wire. | I sometimes make the three pass turkhead with the center pass of a different metal or with a twisted wire. Yellow Gold and White Gold combinations are particularly nice. |
| (Prices vary based on guage of wire and the price of silver or gold.) | Plus Shipping and Handling (and Sales Tax in New Mexico). |
